Ratri Ke Yatri director-producer Anil V Kumar to spend Diwali with family: My dress code is the same for all festivals- dhoti, kurta and gamcha
It's Diwali on October 24 and everyone around is excited. From shopping, and visiting family and friends to eating out, people have made a list of things they would be doing to celebrate the festival. Celebs too are no different. Ratri Ke Yatri season 2 director-producer Anil V Kumar talks about his Diwali plans.
"Diwali plans are always with the family. This time hoping we again get good numbers in Ratri... So Diwali will be double dhamaka for all of us. Fingers crossed," he says.
Talking about the significance of Diwali he adds, "As we all know it’s a festival of lights and for me it is also a festival of good vibes around us, positivity and good luck. It’s an auspicious day and we all get such amazing vibes around us."
After over two years of COVID and related restrictions, this is special without it to a certain extent. So, the celebrations are only going to get double.
Agreeing, Anil says, " I just hope people are staying safe and sound and covid free with whoever they are, be it family, friends or colleagues. I will be with my family too in Mumbai only, as of now! I believe in all the rituals and since childhood, I had learnt how to follow them briefly from my father and till date I try to do the puja in the best way possible."
Looking back, the director-producer does not have fond childhood Diwali memories. "When I was a child, my father could not buy patakhas and phuljhadi for us. Jab puri gali Diwali mana leti thi, aur chali jati thi, phir main aur mere bhai nikalte the dekhne k liye kuch bacha hai ki nahi. We used to collect and burst them, and that's when our Diwali used to start," he shares.
Being born and raised in Patna, the director-producer says that for all festivals they have a certain dress code. "Dhoti, kurta and gamcha just the way my father used to dress up. I have followed the same for years now," he sounds emotional.
All diet plans go for a toss during Diwali. "Diwali month is a cheat month only for all even if you are on diet or not on diet! We all eat so much of sweet during this month," he ends.
