  Nishi Singh plays the role of Kavya in Ishqiyoun. The series is being directed and produced by Payal Saxena ( Elixir Production). The actor talks about the show and the experience of working with the team.     “Working with Payal ma’am was a fantastic experience. She is very calm and creates a pleasant working environment. She is down-to-earth, despite her greater level of professionalism. Her perspective regarding things is really positive. Everyone in the production team is fantastic, and they treated us all as if we were a big family,” she says. The main reason why Nishi agreed to take up this project is because she found the concept vivid and interesting. “The story is relevant to today’s world. And, the protagonist, Kavya, sounded eerily similar to me, which was the icing on the cake.   Khushwant Walia is a part of director-producer Mitu’s upcoming project titled Nishabd on the new channel Atrangi/Atrangii. The series is all about the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community. While some might not want to be a part of such stories, the actor had no inhibition.   “I took it as a challenge because this was the first time I was playing a gay character. I have romanced girls on screen but romancing a guy, I thought, would be quite a challenge and worth the effort because it is going to be a different experience for me as a performer,” he says. Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Sing passed away due to an heart attack today.  Hearing the news, Randeep immediately left from Mumbai to perform the final  rituals.  Randeep had played the role of Sarabjit Singh in the biopic . The role of Dalbir was played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film.  Touched by the performance in the film, Dalbir saw her brother in Randeep. Both Randeep and Dalbir shared a great bond together. The relationship of this brother and sister was so pure that Dalbir had asked Randeep to give ‘kandha’ when she dies ( offer his shoulder before taking the body to the cremation.) The actor accepted it and made sure to be present at the funeral today. He did as he promised where he not just gave , ‘kandha’ to her but also also lighted the pyre. Till now, all their projects, Viru ki Paathshala for Facebook-IPL, Echoes (Short Film) etc, in different formats and mediums have done well. Actress Sai Deodhar, who plays the role of Pallavi in the show Nishabd, says she was a bit apprehensive about taking it up. The show addresses some concerns faced by the LGBTQ community and she was worried if they would be portrayed correctly. However, the makers made sure that everything has been portrayed beautifully. “When I was offered Nishabd, I was apprehensive when Miti called me and told me that it's an LGBTQIA+ film. I was quite happy as I had directed two short films on this subject. I have always felt that there are very beautiful stories that need to be shared.
